ADMINISTRATIVE Staff: If you use a computer at HOME, please read on.

STUDENTS, FACULTY, ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF, ACADEMIC STAFF AND ALL HOME USERS should follow the recommendations below.

I. OVERVIEW

If you use Eudora, you may have seen messages that Eudora will revert to "lite mode" unless you upgrade. If so, we strongly recommend you upgrade to the current version before March 31, 2007. Unless you are using Eudora version 7.1 for Windows, 6.2.4 for Mac by that date, or you paid for your copy of Eudora, you will lose valued features--most notably spell check.

Eudora users can upgrade to the current versions using the instructions below.

II. WHO IS AFFECTED?

Eudora users with versions older than Eudora 7.1 for Windows or 6.2.4 for Macintosh, who used to see advertisements and now get messages about upgrading, are affected.

III. HOW CAN YOU GET THE CURRENT VERSION OF EUDORA?

If you are supported by the Administrative Computing Department, Administrative Computing will contact you regarding your office computers.

Faculty, academic staff, students and all home users can download the current version of Eudora at http://eudora.com/

IV. PRACTICE SAFER COMPUTING ALL THE TIME

Always follow the guidelines to Protect Your Computer at http://www.haverford.edu/acc/protect/.
