Faculty Resource Room

The Faculty Resource Room, located in Stokes 204P, provides high-end computing equipment and help for those faculty with special projects. Faculty wishing to use the Resource Room may schedule an appointment (contact your liaison), or simply drop by Monday - Friday 9am-5pm.Below is a list of equipment kept in the room, along with specialized software and peripherals that have been installed on that equipment. All computers are configured with the standard software: Microsoft Office, Netscape, Internet Explorer, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc. Portable equipment is available for loans of up to one week.
Dell Dimension 4500 Pentium IVThis Windows XP Professional computer is set up to easily scan documents and post electronic reserves. You can also use it to create CDs and DVDs in the following formats: CD-R (write once), CD-RW (rewritable), DVD+R (write once) DVD+RW (rewritable) format.
PowerMacintosh G5This tower Macintosh running OS X is configured to help you create sophisticated videos and web materials. Plug in a digital camera to import video. You can also use it to scan large images on the legal sized flatbed scanner, or convert printed pages to editable text using highly accurate OCR software.
iMacThis 17" pivot screen Macintosh running OS X is set up to scan slides and negative film. You can use it to create rewriteable CDs and write-once DVDs in the DVD-R format.
Macintosh Powerbook G4This laptop running OS X can be loaned out for up to a week for work on large projects such as research papers and videos on the go.
Canon Powershot G3 Digital CameraThis digital camera, along with a tripod, can be loaned out for up to week. It takes clear, high-resolution digital photos, and offers a telephoto, optical zoom lens.
USB Key DriveThis tiny portable drive can be loaned out for up to a week to help you transport files to an event.
External CD/DVD driveThis portable drive can be loaned out for up to a week to read and write CDs and DVDs from a Macintosh or Windows computer. It will read and write to the wide range of DVD formats.
USB/Firewire External Hard DriveThis portable drive can be loaned out for up to a week for those who need temporary extra storage space with their Macintosh or Windows computer.
