IMAP Service Available But NOT Supported

Haverford currently supports the Post Office Protocol (POP) for accessing email from desktop mail clients such as Eudora, Thunderbird and Outlook. However, we plan to support another protocol, the Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), in the future. A specific time table is not yet available.

This summer (2008), College Information Resources is expanding its internal testing of IMAP.  Thus, Haverford email users will have the technical ability to access mail via IMAP. However, until our testing is complete, we will not provide instructions for configuring email clients to work with IMAP, nor will we help you troubleshoot any problems you may experience using this protocol. During this test period there may be interruptions in our IMAP service without public notice.

As our testing progresses, we will provide additional information about IMAP and IMAP support.
