Drop Boxes

The Storage server now has drop boxes, allowing you to submit files to individuals or departments. We suggest the use of drop boxes only when email, Blackboard, or other methods of file submission are not suitable.

To Submit Files into a Drop Box
  1. Log onto Storage as usual and open the dropboxes folder (on Windows) or volume (on Macintoshes).
  2. Find the department or individual you want to give the file. The file structure matches that of the personal and departmental folders.
  3. Email or call the dropbox owner, stating what you have submitted. Otherwise, the person you wish to see the file may not be aware the file is available.
To Retrieve Files from a Drop Box
  1. Log onto Storage as usual.
  2. Find your departmental or individual folder.
  3. Open the folder called private and then dropbox_shortcut
  4. You should now see the submitted file.
  5. Please try to keep your dropbox clear of files, deleting or moving them as appropriate.
