Consequences of Copyright Violation at Haverford CollegeWhen a copyright holder or their agent contacts Haverford about an occurrence of copyright violation, the school is required to take action. If you are suspected of infringement, a representative of College Information Resources will confront you. To resolve the matter, you must meet with the Dean of Student Life. The procedure below outlines the consequences if you are found in violation of college policy and U.S. copyright law.
A third violation would indicate a student’s serious disregard for college policy and the community and would necessitate a discussion of the student’s ability to appropriately use the college’s Information Technology resources. At this point, a permanent ban from the campus network would be considered.
