Jaws for Windows is a program which enables the computer to read documents, email, web pages, and other text through a synthesized voice, as well provide braille output of documents. The Office of Disabilities Services (ODS) has licensed Jaws for use by members of the Haverford Community who would benefit from this software. In addition to allowing those with low or no vision to read materials, Jaws can benefit some people with certain types of learning disabilities. You may install Jaws for Windows on your computer, but it will only work while you are connected to the campus network. Need Help? For help installing and using the Jaws program, contact the Academic Computing Center. For general information about disability accommodations at Haverford, see the ODS web site. Jaws is licensed for five simultaneous users. If you get a message stating that all licenses are already in use, please notify Rick Webb, ODS Coordinator, ODS (email: rwebb@haverford.edu, phone: 610-896-1290).
