Students and Faculty/Staff Personal Purchases

Students, faculty and staff can order Macintosh computers for personal use at an academic discount. To get the discount you must call Apple directly or order via Apple's educational sales web site. Any new Apple Macintosh model will be fully supported by ACC, but we feel the MacBook as configured below meets the needs of most students. If you want a laptop with a bigger screen and more expansions options, look at the MacBook Pro. Desktop users should consider the iMac.

IMPORTANT! To be eligible for the academic discount you may need to provide Apple with proof that you are a student, faculty or staff member. Valid forms of proof include your Haverford ID or your acceptance letter, either of which may be photocopied and faxed to Apple.

Note: Prices and computer configurations are subject to change without notice.

Recommended Printers

Although printing is available in the computing labs and libraries on campus, some students like the convenience of a personal printer. ACC does not have a specific printer recommendation. Both Apple and Dell offer printer options with their systems, often at promotional pricing. If you wish to look at some options before buying, you may prefer to get your printer at a local office supply or computer store. However, if you do not get your printer from Apple, check the printer specifications to make sure it will work with your version of Mac OS X (currently version 10.5).

Order a cable with your printer! Cables are not usually included. Ask your printer vendor which cable you need. There are several different types and they are not interchangeable.
