Install and Configure Email Clients
-- General Instructions for Eudora, Thunderbird, Mac Mail, Microsoft Outlook, etc.
- Download and install your mail program. Thunderbird is available at
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/
Note to Eudora users: You can still download use Eudora, but Haverford is migrating to Thunderbird. Watch for migration information, and contact the Computing Help Desk if you have questions.
- Use the following
user name and server configuration settings:
Your name: Enter
your full name. (e.g. Jane
User) Email Address:
username@haverford.edu (e.g.
juser@haverford.edu)
Login name: username
(e.g. juser) Incoming
Mail Server (a.k.a. Mail server):
pop.haverford.edu Outgoing
Mail Server (a.k.a. SMTP server):

- Configure your mail program for Post Office Protocol (POP) with Secure Socket Layer (SSL). has configuration instructions for many popular mail clients.
- Configure your program to leave mail on server for five days. This is especially important if you read email on several
computers or on other devices (such
as a handheld organizer, or a cell
phone). Manage
