Install Virex
7.7 on Computers Running Mac OS X Version 10.3
Follow the steps below
to install ACC's required anti-virus
software.
Note: Due to our license
agreement, you must be on-campus or have a Haverford email address
to install this software.
- Confirm that your Macintosh uses Mac OS X version 10.3. If unsure,
see About
This Mac.
- Download the Virex
7.7 disk image with installer.
- If the disk image does
not open automatically, double-click
on the file you just downloaded,
named virex7.7.dmg.
- You will see
the Virex
7.7 installer. Double-click
on this to initiate the
install. Accept
the default options and if
prompted, authenticate using
your administrator password
for the computer.
- Upgrade Virex 7.7
with a Hotfix.
- Download the Virex
7.7 Hotfix
- If the download file HotfixVirex7.7.zip does
not automatically unzip, double-click
on it.
- You should now see the installer
file called Hotfix
Virex 7.7.pkg. If
necessary, double-click to
start the install process.
- Follow the
instructions to upgrade Virex
7 with this Hotfix; supply your administrator password when
prompted and wait for the upgrade
to complete.
- Finally, you must update
the Virex 7.7 virus definitions.
The installer does not get new
definitions automatically.
Congratulations!
