Install
VirusScan on
Computers Running Mac OS X Version 10.4/10.5
Follow the steps below
to install ACC's required anti-virus
software.
Note: Due to our license
agreement you must be on-campus
or have a Haverford email address,
to install this software.
- Confirm that your Macintosh uses Mac OS X version 10.4 or 10.5. If unsure, see About
This Mac.
- Download the file VirusScan_861_Installer.dmg.
- This file mounts the volume VS861Installer.
- Open the volume. You will see a folder named V8.6.1Installers containing the following files and folders:
- READ
- BEFORE INSTALLING.pdf
- RUN BEFORE INSTALLING.command
- INSTALL THIS FIRST, THEN RESTART
- INSTALL THIS SECOND
- INSTALL THIS THIRD
- LAST STEP
- Copy (drag) the folder VirusScan 8.6.1 Installers to your desktop.
The installation has several steps, including a reboot. If you copy the folder, you will finish the installation process faster.
- Open first file, READ BEFORE INSTALLING.pdf, and follow the instructions in that file. Make sure you reboot when instructed.
