Install VirusScan 8.5 for Windows XP Computers

Follow the steps below to install ACC's required anti-virus software.

Note: Due to our license agreement, you must be on-campus or have a Haverford email address to install this software.

1. Remove any previously installed antivirus software.
   
   
   1. From the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel.
   2. Open the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel.
   3. Go to the Uninstall/Install tab.
   4. Select the previously installed anti-virus software.
   5. Click the Add/Remove button.
   6. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove any previously installed anti-virus software.
2. Download the McAfee VirusScan 8.5 installer.
3. Select the Save option from the File Download dialog box; save the Application to your Desktop using the default name. The VirusScan installer icon will now appear on your Desktop with the name VS85install.exe.
4. From your Desktop, double-click on the icon named VS85install to begin the installation.
5. Accept all defaults, and agree to the license agreement.
6. Reboot.
