Accessing webpublish.haverford.edu Using FTP
Explorer
The Windows application FTP Explorer can be used to publish pages on
the college web server. The application allows you to drag-and-drop your
pages and files onto your college web space.
Set-up FTP Explorer:
- Open Windows FTP Explorer
- Select your existing web server profile to edit, or click Add,
and type in a Profile Name such as
HC Web Server
- Next to Host Address, enter webpublish.haverford.edu
- In the space next to Login and Password, insert your Haverford
email username and email password. If you did not change your
password after September 2003, you will need to change
your password in order to gain access to the webpublish server.
- In the Initial Path field, type the server folder
that contains your site: /www for web data or /wwwinternal
for internal web data.
- Click the Save button to preserve your settings.
- Click the Connect button to access webpublish.haverford.edu.
- A window will open up that allows you to browse to your folder. Once
there, you can drag and drop your pages into your web space.
- Please note that FTP
has some special issues involving file naming and upload methods.
Please read ACC's documentation so that you may avoid them.
- To access your site in the future, open FTP Explorer, click on HC
Web Server or the site name you saved, and click Connect.
