RealPlayer at Haverford

Haverford uses Real for live streaming events and streaming archived files. To view Real content, you must download a version of RealPlayer. The College supports two versions for Windows and one version for the Macintosh. If you are having problems, you can find support information and frequently asked questions here.

RealPlayer Enterprise - Windows 98/2000/XP

Recommended for all Tri-College Windows Users

RealPlayer Enterprise is a "light-weight" version of RealPlayer that Haverford has licensed to distribute to the Tri-College community. This version of RealPlayer will not ask you for your personal information, ask you to buy anything, nor will it advertise to you as part of the installation process. By default it will only play RealTM specific files -- that means it won't take over all your MP3s and CDs. It provides a far more pleasant viewing experience than the standard RealPlayer. Users of Rhapsody, Real's legal music download service, should not download Enterprise. Otherwise, we recommend this program for all on-campus users, and community members who have Haverford accounts.

RealPlayer Basic - Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista

Those not on the campus network can download RealPlayer Basic to view Haverford streaming content. RealPlayer basic includes many promotions and bundled applications from Real, please read our installation instructions for tips on avoiding them.

RealPlayer 10 - Macintosh

Recommended for all Macintosh Users

RealPlayer 10 for Macintosh is equivalent to RealPlayer Enterprise in that it sports a simple interface without advertisements. It supports the latest audio and video codecs and will play all Real content found on Haverford's servers.

RealPlayer for Linux, PocketPC and other OSes

Real also maintains versions of RealPlayer for Linux, PocketPC and some Nokia Mobile Phones. These are unsupported by Haverford.
