Greetings!
I'm currently a Junior English Major (with a Creative Writing concentration). I'm a part of the Humtones a capella group, and will be playing plenty of music with plenty of people this year.
I also am a photographer, mostly of people. I am working on a political art project, "Older Beauty", which highlights the wisdom and power of the older gay community, largely ignored by the rest of the gay sphere. With today's focus on pop culture, fashion, and body image, my project looks to turn away from today's vanity and look at the mentors, fathers, and sages who went through some of the toughest times in gay history (Stonewall and the AIDS crisis). These men have their stories written in their faces, eyes, bodies...they do not deserve to be ignored.
I've had two of my "Older Beauty: photographs accepted into the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation's "Great Gay Photo Show," in the Soho area of New York City from January 16th - February 16th, 2008. I hope to get into more shows in the near future.
I've also had a blog post written about my project, with an interview - check my links below.
Some reviews of my photography:
"This young man is a talent to be reckoned with. A genuine artist. His collection "Older Beauty" would be a revelation coming from one twice Ndosi's age, but to have come from one so young is nothing short of miraculous. In showcasing older gay men, Ndosi has plumbed deep beneath the surface to uncover depths of feeling and longing and layers of humanity among a group rarely focused on. Can only hope that a publisher is already working on putting this collection between the covers of a book. Nate Ndosi is an artist of extraordinary vision." - gayblklvr (on www.flickr.com)
"Your photographs are amazing...gentle, touching, and erotic...you are quite a formidable force of nature behind the camera" - polarbare1 (flickr)
"Where to start... Nate's photos have a way of touching you and he really has a keen eye for composition. His portraits are top notch and you get a sense that he is at peace behind that camera of his. That is where the magic happens and I think it's safe to say Nate is a wonderful magician." - powerbooktrance (flickr)
Samples of my work in this project are in a photo album on this profile, check them out and e-mail me any comments, questions, or inquiries in terms of photography (I do portraits, headshots, etc. for pretty cheap, too!)
Update: A photograph of mine (The Walker Arts Center) is now included in the Schmap online guide to the city of Minneapolis (my hometown) - it's in my links section here. - October 23, 2008

Nate
