Haverford has installed a telephone Centrex system from PECO TelCove for all dormitory residents.

All resident students should have received a Personal Identification along with details of the billing system from STC Services (x2900), the contractor hired by the College to provide billing information and basic support for the system.

Each communications outlet in student bedrooms has been assigned a telephone number. You will note that the standard Communications Outlets have several jacks in them. The one in the upper right hand corner is for voice communications and includes active dial tone. The lower left hand jack is the one normally used for your computer connection. The associated telephone number is available in several sources:

  1. Online list. Find your room number in the following list to get the phone number assignment http://www.haverford.edu/telephone/phonenumbers/stations.pdf.
  2. Master lists will be available in the Business Office from Dottie Penrose, 610-896-1243.

General calling - PIN

General campus calling can be done by using the last four digits of the phone number. This is true now for all student phones. All student telephones are in area code 610, exchange 795.

All calls off campus (and calls to administrative telephone numbers at present) are made by dialing: 9 Followed by your PIN Followed by the number to be called.

Calls in the immediate Haverford/Ardmore/Bryn Mawr area will be free but require the use of your PIN number.

Other calls will be charged to the PIN number used, and billed to you by STC Services on behalf of the College. Your PIN number can be used from any student phone location. Don't give out your PIN number to others, or use another student's PIN number.
